Terry Duguid is a community leader who is proud to be involved with a number of local cultural organizations, and is a strong advocate on environmental and public health issues. He has served as president of Sustainable Developments International and as chairman of the Manitoba Clean Environment Commission. Terry has also served as a board member for Concordia Hospital and is the founding president of the International Centre for Infectious Diseases, a non-profit organization established to support and enhance the mandate of the Public Health Agency of Canada.
No stranger to politics, Terry was the executive director of the Manitoba Liberal Party in the 1980s, and was a member of Winnipeg’s City Council from 1989 to 1995. As a city councillor, he negotiated the city’s first infrastructure program, and pioneered Winnipeg’s blue box recycling program and the city’s first-ever water conservation program.
