Terry Duguid has a solid track record as a leader in the government, business and not-for-profit sectors.He has worked tirelessly with our community to improve the lives of Manitobans in the areas of health, education, environment, community safety, infrastructure and jobs.
As a city councillor, Terry negotiated Winnipeg’s portion of the first Canada Infrastructure Program, paving the way for the Kenaston Underpass and Southwest Transit Corridor. Known for his environmental leadership, Terry introduced Winnipeg’s first Blue Box recycling program and served as Manitoba’s Clean Environment Commissioner, focussing on climate change and cleaning up Lake Winnipeg.
As founding President and CEO of the International Centre for Infectious Diseases, Terry strengthened health, research and scientific innovation, bringing good well-paid jobs to Winnipeg.
Terry’s early years were spent in Winnipeg curling rinks alongside his four brothers and Dad, world champion curler Don Duguid. Terry and his wife Linda have two daughters and make their home in Winnipeg South.
